Karen Aranda is a graduate of Tolleson Union High School, and is currently a second-year honors student at Estrella Mountain Community College. Aranda, the first of her family to attend college, plans to graduate from Estrella Community College with an associate's degree in science. She plans to transfer to the University of Arizona to receive her bachelor's degree in a science field. Upon obtaining her university degree, Aranda plans to enroll in a top medical school to follow her dream of becoming a medical doctor. Aranda states that, "becoming a doctor is a long process that requires a lot of dedication and time, but I know that anything I put my mind to, I will accomplish." Aranda is most grateful to the Estrella Rotary Foundation and EMCC for making her education possible.
