The West Valley Auto Alliance scholarship is helping Rachel Robins write her own ticket to a successful future.

Robins, an English major, has been quite busy during her time at Estrella Mountain Community College. Besides attending classes and maintaining a 3.7 GPA, she has written a book which she hopes to have published this summer.

She is founder of the campus’ Writers Club, and also tutors students from grades K–8 in Math and English.

Robins plans to attend Grand Canyon University and her goal is to become a writer.

“If not for the Annual New Car Raffle, I wouldn’t have been able to stay in school last fall. I had to undergo two concurrent surgeries on both my feet. Forced to quit my jobs so I could take the time to heal, I lost all income for a period of 8 months. If I didn’t receive this scholarship, I would never have been able to afford to attend classes.
