Adjunct Faculty Scholarship


Dorene Simpson-Longoria, formerly a stay at home mother of six children for over 20 years, decided that it was not too late to achieve her dreams in continuing her education. She enrolled at Estrella Mountain Community College and is majoring in nursing with a minor in psychology. She hopes to one day return to Estrella Mountain as an instructor. Simpson-Longoria believes in giving back to those who have helped her along the way, by bestowing some of the knowledge that she has acquired to a new generation. She thanks the Estrella Rotary Foundation and Estrella Mountain Community College for making her education possible. She states that her success as a student is due to the success of EMCC as an institution and her exceptional professors.
